Romy,That's a great photo and so funny. Your children are just so adorable. I do wonder though. Whilst Thomas seems to rather enjoy the multiple wonders of operating dad's multimeter, the little twins look like they are ready to pull the plug and say...

I'm not sure why your 3rd Movement Pt1 should stop at 9:16. The recording doesn't have that problem.Anyhow, I've re-edited the beginnings & ends of Pt1 & Pt2 to make them complete and the transition as it should be.Here are the new links.B8 ...

Thanks for the link, this is even higher than the 192 kbps which is already the max for most stations.Only the the concerts which are aired via Radio 4 you will find on this site.Concerthuis (something like concert home) keeps the concerts online fo...

decoud, it was hot and miserable in the Albert Hall. BTW, if you did listen it life AND perhaps recorded it live, both Eotvos and Bruckner than can you make a copy of it for me. We will be 3 days in London next week and I would pick it up as our hote...

Yes, Zander was talking about his upcoming release of the 5th with Philharmonia Orchestra. The Philharmonia is unquestionably more cable orchestra then Boston Philharmonic and it might be interesting. I hope it will not be a studio recording as it wo...

OK, I no longer keep my finger on the Arts Pulse here in (greater) San Diego; but the Bruckner thing has got to be worth a traffic jamb or two, even if it sounds pretty "quaint", at best. And how odd that I am advised of the event by an e-note from Bo...

It is excellent that Timbre is described here as color. This is actually how musicians speak about it. The problem with the comparison to photography is that color with a musical instrument is a moving target. If we take my own instrument, the trumpe...

I don't know much about old TBAs, but d'Yquem (like many of the finest French wines) is actually pretty hard to ruin! Since aged d'Yquem is so dear now, I have a nice stash from a near neighbor to that plot, and I will think sympathetically of Clark...

Thanks, guys. I got a few direct emails with various ideas. I am thinking to go in June, to escape the pre-Olympic rash. I do not know when and where, juts collection sensations at this point. I have no problems with non-audio part of the trip, end ...

Thank you, Dominic for this new (to me) link, music source and even radio ! Out of the deep canadian forest we received in the last 50 years some very nice music performances for our blue planet ! :) One of my favourite conductors and great Bruckner ...

Congratulations, Romy, and Long and Happy Life Together, Romy and Amy!Although my wife and I have been married for over 44 years, and she is a good travel companion, still I could hold her head under water as easily as I could ply her with Bruckner v...

Even I am officials drunk now, that happens ones in 10 years, I am confessing that it is true: there is Bruckner and there is all the rest music. Talk to you after you get it. Romy the Cat...

Thanks you very much Nic. It was alt of B4 this year for us, and this is good. I am not familiar with Stamford Symphony. Have you heard them, are they any good. Do the hall they play is comparable with Bruckner music?...

I like Davidoff English (Virginia, Burley, Latakia and a touch of Perique) and Ashton Consummate Gentleman, which I believe is a similar blend. For a slightly heavier, really rich, almost sedating smoke, Dunhill Nightcap is lovely, although I can't r...

Ok, now see why the French cars, all of those Peugeots, Citroens and Renaults, are as bad as they are: because Jessie instead of working is listening his headphones. The media to play at work: would it be hard drive of CD player is irrelevant. I do p...

hi,just because it annoys me, i picked up a new celibidache 12-cd set of bruckner recordings on amazon.fr for 25€ delivered (in france), instead of 449$ on amazon.com for the 8-cd set? maybe I am missing something! if anyone wants the set and amazon...

is that it is just Solti. As I stated I do not like Solti's Bruckner because it seems shallow and showy. I haven't heard his B7 but that sounds like him. You will only know by listening to the others....

My ultimate wet audio dream was to have Bruckner Room. But so far it turning out that I got another big B room. Since 3 days back I stopped the intellectual masturbation with my room my playback up for the whole week and listening what I am listening...

Romy - well, I'm not a high tech sort of guy! - Much easier for me to burn a CDR of the Bruckner 8 (& some other Nanut stuff while I am at it! - e.g. Beethoven 7? - wonderful!!) and I will send it to you by airmail. Just let me know yo...

Wow - Romy, that's quite a find.Nanut in Mahler 7 8 9 10 ?! - I MUST get them! I have the other Nanut Mahler recordings already. Sadly, I can't find the set in the UK. It's useful to know it exists though. And Romy, have you lis...
I don't know if it will have the "right tone" though - you know, I didn't think this was possible, but I think you are getting even fussier about recordings and orchestral sound as time goes by!!
Of course I’m gettin...
Happily, Arkivmusic.com has made it available once again through its on-demand service. For Bruckner lovers, it's a must
...but buy it not made by ArkivMusic, even though it is hard to distract it nowadays. The Arkivmusic ...
You mentioned bagpipes--do you think any bagpipe or other Celtic music can be of serious interest? I don't necessarily mean audio interest, but music/cultural interest.
JJ, I have no idea. Amy loves bagpipes and she...

Thanks for comment, decoud. If you live with Melquiades for a while then you might discover that it will moderate your listening interests with time. I do not know what you are listening now but be if you spend substantial amount of time with Milq th...

Uni,There is a Bruckner Motet in that stained glass I posted. You will have to turn off the amplifiers to hear it. Listen to the space with that glass in it. Don't you hear the Bruckner's contrapuntal modes loading the room? You don't need a sound to...
Have you got around to the Nanut Bruckner 8 yet, Romy? Love it or hate it, I'm sure you'll have a strong opinion!
I have listened it a few times and I still do not know. I like the performance but it did ...

Romy - A couple of years ago I was in contact with a guy in Slovenia who bought some CDs from me on eBay. We kept in contact for a while and discussed Anton Nanut. I had to send him copies of many of my Nanut CDs because they were NO...

I am pretty sure I qualify as a Neanderthal when it comes to Bruckner but I'm listening to his 4th symphony now and find it quite enjoyable. Even my roommate who thought I was listening to movie soundtrack likes it. It's the Herbert von Karajan on DG...
